R sings…

Don’t tell me you’re sorry cause you’re not. Baby when I know you’re only sorry you got caught. But you put on quite a show, really had me going. But now it’s time to go, curtain’s finally closing. That was quite a show, very entertaining. But it’s over now (but it’s over now), go on and take a bow…

Boy, how could you lie to me? Thought you would die for me… I’m not accepting another apology. After 3 years, I’ma let it go; I ain’t standing around crying no more. Got your bags packed sitting by the door. I’ma leave your heart broken on the floor… You’re gonna be in the emergency room. I’m standing by your bed and so tempted to pull out your I.V. You’re gonna be in the emergency room. I’m fighting with myself; I can’t hurt you even though you hurt me. You’re gonna be in the emergency room. Tryin to call a nurse but nobody can help you now. Let me see you try to live without me. Now where’s your heartbeat, flatline on the EKG…

I love her songs… Yey!

Too bad that she will sing these songs for me… Yikes!

Wala kang nararamdaman subukan mang pumikit.

Wala kang natatandaan lagi mong inaalala ang para lamang sa yo.

Walang iba kundi ikaw at kailanma’y walang kayo.

Tayoy’y nagkagulo’t nagsigawan at halos magtulakan.

Halt the Hats!

Six Thinking Hats

The de Bono Hats system (also known as “Six Hats” or “Six Thinking Hats”) is a thinking tool for group discussion and individual thinking. Combined with the idea of parallel thinking which is associated with it, it provides a means for groups to think together more effectively, and a means to plan thinking processes in a detailed and cohesive way.

The premise of the method is that the human brain thinks in a number of distinct ways which can be identified, deliberately accessed and hence planned for use in a structured way allowing one to develop strategies for thinking about particular issues. Dr de Bono identifies five distinct states in which the brain can be “sensitised”. In each of these states the brain will identify and bring into conscious thought certain aspects of issues being considered (e.g. gut instinct, pessimistic judgement, neutral facts).

Perhaps the most compelling example presented is the idea of sensitivity to “mismatch” stimuli as a particularly strong tendency. This is presented as being a valuable survival instinct – because in the natural world the thing that is out of the ordinary may well be dangerous. This is identified as the root of negative judgement and critical thinking.

Six distinct states are identified:

  • Neutrality (White) Facts & Information – considering purely what information is available, what are the facts?
  • Feeling (Red) Feelings & Emotions – instinctive gut reaction or statements of emotional feeling (but not any justification)
  • Negative judgement (Black) Critical Judgement – logic applied to identifying flaws or barriers, seeking mismatch
  • Positive Judgement (Yellow) Positive – logic applied to identifying benefits, seeking harmony
  • Creative thinking (Green) New Ideas – statements of provocation and investigation, seeing where a thought goes
  • Process control (Blue) The Big Picture – thinking about thinking

6 Thinking Hats

In order to make it easier to clearly identify and work with these states the use of coloured hats as metaphors for them is used; each state is symbolised by the act of putting on a colored hat, either actually or imaginatively. The use of these metaphors also allows more complete and elaborate definition of the states thus getting past the preconceptions inherent in using people’s current language. All of these thinking hats help for thinking deeper for a better learning. Furthermore Dr de Bono asserts that these states are associated with distinct chemical states of the brain – although no details or evidence of this are presented.

Strategies and Programs

Having identified the six states that can be accessed, distinct programs can be created, these are sequences of hats which encompass and structure the thinking process toward a distinct goal. A number of these are included in the materials provided to support the franchised training of the six hats method, however it is often necessary to adapt them to suit an individual purpose. Also, programs are often “emergent” which is to say that the group might plan the first few hats then the facilitator will see what seems to be the right way to go.

Sequences always begin and end with a blue hat; the group agrees together how they will think, then they do the thinking, then they evaluate the outcomes of that thinking and what they should do next. Sequences (and indeed hats) may be used by individuals working alone or in groups.

my writing pen runs out of ink…

It has been a while since the last time I post a story here on my blog. I had so many thoughts to write then, I just had no time to do it. My work had occupied a lot of my time in the office (presumably) that I had never experienced it since then. Well, office has just never been so busy… Not until…

Crossed Out

We had our general assembly with our CEO last Tuesday and he announced it himself. National Pen Philippines will be permanently close… It has been a decision that came from a thorough examination by the Company of its present and prospective financial performance, especially in light of the global economic recession that has had a significant impact on the Company. We’ll all lose our job within the next 30 days. Silence…

I’ve been working with the company for the last 2 years, 11 months and 9 days now which means that I’ll be leaving more than my work and experience. I have been very thankful with the job that I got from NPC. I’ve done outbound sales, online chat service, online web order process, customer service and inbound sales. It has been a great opportunity that I will never forget. I feel like I’ve learned so much even though there have been a lot of changes in our company. NPC family means so much to me. It has been a great experience to work with everyone and the environment that we have in the office is more than what someone can expect. It has been said that in a call center industry, people will just come and go but with NPC, it is different. The friendship created and shared will always be remembered by everyone for sure and will not be forgotten. Glimpse…

I searched more details about National Pen to know if there is an article written about what had happened to us. Indeed, our story has been told…

TIMES GAZETTE

With God’s grace and guidance, things will be better after the NPC experience. Heads up everyone! See yah all after!

Marian Rivera Experience

You just might be wondering why I have to put such a title for this particular post, well as the subject goes; I just had my photo shoot with Marian Rivera. I got this from JAG Black Studio website. It is actually a concept on their website wherein the two models of their current line are having this video shoot. The two models, Marian Rivera and Will Devaughn, are both doing their post and you will have this point and click camera application in which at the end of the time allotted for you to shoot, you will be able to get the result of your photo session. I thought that the website is excellent and I thought that this is the first time I went to see that kind of application for a website. I thought the website is cool pare! The website has the description: Control the camera and snap away a reel of photos that are to be published in your Jag Black Book magazine. The website is presented as: THE JAG STUDIO. Photograph Marian Rivera and Will Devaughn. Select your best pics, email them to friends and be published in your own online JAG Black Book! I did not submit my pictures and if you will get back with the title of my post, on how was my Marian Rivera experience goes… How I wish… Just do try it!

Little Manhattan

Nothing’s as big as your first love.

littlemanhattan

Rosemary: But I thought you hate me.
Gabe: I don’t. I lied.
Gabe: [thinking] I wasn’t gonna be like my father. I wasn’t gonna let all these things left unsaid smother me.
Gabe: Rosemary, I love you.
Rosemary: You what?
Gabe: I do. I’m sorry, but I love you more than anyone’s ever loved. I love you, I love you, I love you.
Gabe: [thinking] How’s that for letting it all hang out there? And hang, and hang, and hang.
Gabe: You think you might wanna love me, too?
Rosemary: I don’t know what I think, Gabe, I’m only 11. I don’t think I’m ready to be in love.
Gabe: I’m not ready and I’m doing it!
Rosemary: Maybe I was wrong, maybe girls don’t mature faster.
Gabe: No they do, they do, you know they do. You even said so at the park. We at least mature at the same rate.
Rosemary: I don’t know what mature is anymore, but I’m really happy you came. Do you want to dance, Gabe?
Gabe: Sure, what the hell.
